Still a major flaw...
The new version did not fix a major flaw that was present in the last version. When doing the EQ quizzes with your own music, due to the level of modern mastering, applying any boost to a track that is already peaking at 0 dBFS will cause clipping.
There should at least be some form of internal compensation in the app, for example: if the EQ quiz you’re attempting is going to be using an 8 dB boost, reduce the track level by 8 dB to give yourself headroom to actually be able to boost some frequency by 8 dB. Otherwise, it’s just going to distort, especially at low freqeuncies. This happens regardless of the level from the computer itself.
I feel that doing the EQ quizzes with your own music is most beneficial because it lets you hear EQ changes in a context in which you are already familiar. However, this is very difficult with this app because of the clipping/distortion that occurs.
